Hi, welcome to laLovie's website. We are fashion designer Irene Wei and artist Anthony Bonoli, and we started laLovie in 2009 after the birth of our youngest child. We had always talked about working together to create objects that would combine our training in fashion and in fine art. When we became parents, we found that much of our energy and attention became focused on caring for our children. Our discussions on art and fashion gave way to putting our children to bed, potty-training them, dealing with meltdowns, teaching the ABC's, and playing horsie. After our youngest child turned one, we said to ourselves, "Hey, wait a minute. Since we're spending so much time with our young children, let's start making stuff that our young children will enjoy." So we decided to start laLovie in order to create products for young children that are beautifully designed, richly colored, and durable.

We have two young children, a boy and a girl. They amaze and inspire us, and they teach us to look at the world in new ways. We make images from the things in our lives, and our designs reference art history, pop culture, and childhood amusements, such as riding a merry-go-round, seeing animal shapes in clouds, and playing tic-tac-toe. We try to see these favorite things as our children might see them.

Our goal is to create products for young children that are beautiful and durable. We believe in using the finest quality natural materials, and we use these materials to create designs that celebrate creativity, whimsy and play. laLovie products are made to last a long time, to be used again and again, and to be passed down from generation to generation.
